Seattle, Scooters and Rock-n-Roll

Our weekends away now usually have to do with a race event! Not even sure how this one came about but sure glad it did! We headed to Seattle for the 1st annual Rock-n-Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon the last week of Jun with 4 other couples! 3 hubbies ran the full marathon and the rest of us took it eady with the 1/2! Beautiful course, Fabulous city, Great Run for us all! We took advantage of seeing the city (both on foot and scooter) , eating plenty, and getting in a little shopping- not all were good for the full marathoners!
Greg checking out the city from top of the Space Needle!

Lunch at the Space needle.

Saw something very cool...the Ballard Locks. we spent a few hours just watching. It is where the Pacific Ocean and Lake Waschington meet - but have different water levels. When boats want to go one way or the other, they open up these big gates, raise or lower the water level and open the gates on the other end for the boats to enter. Pretty amazing.

How can you see a city if not on scooters? We have made it tradition to rent scooters most everplace we go - and it is the best! You can get anywhere you want! We road up the coast, all around "U-DUB" or University of Washington, stopped for lunch, and so much more! Lots of laughs and fun times!

Best of all - spending quality time with Greg!
