Crazy you might think? That is what I thought as I heard our teammate had a stress fracture and could not complete her last leg.

I knew something was up as the 11 other teammates were waiting for me as I came out of the bathroom...I knew it could not be good!
I was the most rested...and for some reason they thought I was most qualified???
I had been so happy 3 hours earlier knowing I had finished my 3rd run of the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay - running with the TORTUGAS! A team of 12 racing from Logan, Utah to Park City. A total of 188 miles.
Run #1 - 7.9 miles of beautiful rolling hills through parks, over streams and along beautiful country roads.
Run #2 - 8.4 miles. Starting at Snow Basin, 1st mile was straight up...yes I clocked an 11 minute mile and then the following 7 miles I had a hard time going slower than a 7:30. It was so steep. I dropped 1800 feet in elevation in that 7 miles! OUCH on the quads.
Run # 3 - an easy 4.8 mile run from Oakley to Kamas.
A breathtaking sunrise run - unbelievable views - I hardly knew I was running!
Thought I was done...
Then the stress fracture - so I picked up an additional 6.1 miles from Heber to Midway! It was slow but I made it and it felt great.
Oh and one more add on...our van 2 did not make it to exchange 6 so I ran 1 mile til they met up with me on the road...
For a total of 28.2 miles!
Yes I am feeling it - the up and the down takes a toll on us AZ runners that can't find a decent hill to train on!
I had a great time! Spending 24 hours with my sisters and friends! I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

I wish I would have known you were at Ragnar! I was up there too... I would have LOVED to have seen you. Our team was "Trading Paces". Sounds like you did more than your fare share. Good job girl!
