New friends!

As we prepared for the first day of school, we sat around and talked about what our goals were for the new year. Our challenge to our children was to sit by someone new at lunch. This would help them to make some new friends. We all get so comfortable with those that we know and it is hard sometimes to reach out to new people. It has been so much fun to hear them come home and them tell us about new friends they have made! My favorite line so far has been...
C said, "Mom, I sat by a new friend at lunch today...and guess what mom, she is brown!"
I love it! They are so innocent and fun!
A has really branched out as well! She has started playing with some new girls that she has known but not really played with! She is having a great year. They all are. I am proud of them.
